The Inspector General of the Nigerian Police Idris has advised Nigeria citizens to be vigilant when being interrogated by officers of the Nigerian Police.
According to the IGP, he said that several reports on how the police have discovered arms in peoples houses meanwhile, after proper investigation the person in question does not in any way possess arms
The IGP said that every Nigerian have right to question officers and ensure that no weapon is deposited in their houses or vehicle by the Police officers.
However, several reports of illegal arrest have been on a rampage as a result of false accusations by the Police officers.
According to a correspondent who spoked (anonymity) with a reporter of Mimi post News quoted that
“Some years ago, police officers visited my uncle’s house and discovered AK 47 meanwhile my uncle don’t even know how to shot gun”
In conclusion, the Inspector General of Police warns every citizen of Nigeria to be a good citizen of the country and ensure peace is maintained.
Idris noted that if any illegal activities are noticed, it should be reported immediately to the police officers.
